Hands-Free Legislation
With the new hands-free laws in effect on October 1, 2009, nearly 9 million licensed drivers in Ontario will flock to the local electronics store, wireless carrier or their favorite online retailer to ensure they’re outfitted with the proper gear to keep both hands on the wheel and avoid a traffic ticket. These drivers should look out for the Bluetooth logo when scouting potential headsets to ensure easy connectivity with their mobile phone.

Alberta Distracted Driving Legislation
Driver distraction is a growing traffic safety concern among policy makers and the public.
International studies have shown that 20 to 30 percent of collisions involve driver distraction.
Alberta has taken a step to address this serious traffic safety issue by recently passing Bill 16-
the Traffic Safety (Distracted Driving) Amendment Act, 2010-to help make the roads safer.
